Descripción y Características Primatist by Bruno Abbate (IT)
Primatists soul resembles a long thread along which competence, passion and energy are transmitted through time. At one end of this thread there is Giuseppe Abbate, the forefather who, in 1870 built the first crafts destined to satisfy basic requirements: fishing and transporting foodstuff from one shore to the other of Lake Como.
At the other end of this thread there is a modern and dynamic company in which technology is part of day to day work, the synergies with Pininfarina and DAC Racing representing the most concrete evidence. But what lies between these two ends? A common denominator is represented by continuity
...
The same which allowed grandfather Guido (son of Giuseppe) to build the first motorboats
to race and win the FIM gold medal with the legendary Pamblo and to shine in the Centomiglia del Lario (Lario Hundred Miles) with his Ribot, with which he also achieved six world records.
The same continuity featured also in Tullio, Chicco and Brunos (sons of Guido) self-sacrifice, which led them to exploit the introduction of the V hull at best, by designing fast boats featuring innovative lines, thus leaving their mark in Offshore Motor-boating.
Along the path between past and present the creation of Primatist in 1987 can be considered to be a link, both important and delicate, as it also marked the change from wood to fibreglass. At the beginning of the Eighties, the Primatist 23 was one of the most highly rated and most sold crafts
Its debut at the Genoa Boat Show caused a sensation; it was not by accident that record sales were achieved.
This success was also made possible thanks to the companys production division, which managed to complete one boat every three working days another record at the time. Throughout the years there has been a gradual and natural development, so the range has expanded thanks to increasingly bigger and better finished boats. Among these featured the Primatist 38 and the Primatist 42, which marked time before the advent of the G line and the AeroTop Evolution.
Similarly, the G41 ATE and its success, both commercial and in terms of image, represent another important turning point for the Shipyard. In this case, too, history repeats itself; nowadays a G41 ATE exits the production line every 15 days.
The technologic developments achieved with the G line (characterised by an increase in size to 21 metres) have been given a further push by the co-operation with Pininfarina. The solutions proposed by the G70 and the G46 Pininfarina, as well as those applied to the G53, are the result of research and the desire by Primatist to project its production centres, the one in Arbatax first of all, increasingly towards the future, even in terms of quality of the workplace.
The introduction of automated production stages is not in fact just aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing technical times, but also at substituting human intervention during the most dangerous stages. Clear examples of this are automated gel-coating, the resin supply system and the numerically controlled pantograph for woodwork. In an environment with plenty of green and natural light, experts work at handmade details
In this environment, man and his thought remain at the centre of the creative process.
